There are different ways of observing a life.
You can stand back and look at the bigger picture. The direction you've travelled, the decisions you've made, the things you've gained and lost, and the person you've gradually become.
You can look at your everyday life. Your routines, relationships, work, habits and the things that occupy most of your waking hours.
And you can look at the smaller details.
The way you respond to a particular person. The thoughts that arise in a familiar situation. The feelings that accompany a decision you've made a hundred times before.
Each perspective may reveal something different.
The bigger picture can show us where we've travelled.
Daily life can reveal the patterns we've established.
And the smallest details may help us notice how those patterns continue.
None of this requires a particular conclusion.
It's simply an opportunity to become a little more familiar with the life we're already living.
